skim boarded and the boys (that would include my husband) caught crabs and other denizens of the sea. My Ravelympic knitting is in that basket, I read the new Weather Warden novel (great fun!!) and let the sun, sand and sea work their restorative magic on me.
Most of my week-end was spent in this chair, on the Brewster Flats while the girls
We also took the short hike to Wing Island (again in the service of skim boarding mecca) on Saturday and I was able to knit happily, with
occasional forays into the tide pools to watch scuttling hermit crabs, darting fish and green crabs.
I'm a bit beyond where I was when I took this picture, but at least I have a shot of my Ravelympic knitting to share. There are worse places to knit than a perfect day at the beach. I overextended a little in the events I chose for the Olympics. In the Sweater Sprint I started The Incredible Custom Fit Raglan for a friend's daughter ( I'm sort of racing with a friend of mine who is also working on this sweater. It keeps me honest and motivated!). I'm also commited to finishing a m
ess of WIPS, including my monkey socks, baby tulip jacket and a tank or two. So, methinks I'd best get off the laptop and start knitting!!!
The picture at left is from Friday afternoon. We spent a few hours at Ellis Landing and I loved watching the tide come in and join the tidal pools (I always imagine the fish and hermit crabs begin jumping about shouting "Whee! We can roam the ocean again!") This gull was happily surveying his snacks as they moved past him in the tide.
